after drinking water or somesort of drink that comes in a bottle you usually throw the plastic bottle away in the recycleing ben because you think it will be turned in to something usefull again. right?
the plastic bottles are made from what is called pet. it is usually recycled in to a low quality plastic that cant be used for much. so not exactly.
researchers in eurupe found a way to convert pet in to pha which is biodegratable.
heating pet produces ta which bacteria eats which can be in pet because of contmination during the bottle making prosses.
the bacteria in ta have the abilitie to convert ta pha which is the next step to recycling pet. so while pet to pha is not the whole answer pet recycling it is part of the salution.
