Declaration of Independence
In my own words
When in the Course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another and to assume among the powers of the earth
When we need to break from our political unions that have connected us to world powers.
That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government
When the present government is abusing its power over us we can rebel to place an new government.
He has forbidden his Governors to pass Laws of immediate and pressing importance
The king didn’t let the governors pass the laws that were a necessity and important.
He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harass our people and eat out their substance.

The king of England has made a lot of new positions and has sent a lot of soldiers, governors, or high authorities that abuse their power and steal our stuff.

He has kept among us, in times of peace, Standing Armies without the Consent of our legislatures.

When there was no fighting he sent in soldiers that were ready for war without asking our government.


Constitution


The people need a leader that will not abuse of his power.

The government will be made up of a leader and congress. The people need to vote in their government. The president can only stay in office for six years but if the people aren’t happy they can vote him out in four years. The congress is voted into office by the people. The states make its own laws and it has to pass by the federal government then the people vote for it or against it. Each state needs two representatives from each county. The State must have a monthly meeting with each county representative to discuss what the cities need to improved, to destroy or added (malls, schools, harbors, trains, airports etc.). Then three times per year the state will take all the problems to the federal gov. The taxes will first go through the federal government then to state to see if the people ill vote for it or not. Taxes will not go past 7% of the total. Only necessities will not be taxed for example groceries, school supplies, pet food, etc. There will be a toll on new bridges and roads for only two years. To raise money the government may only raise the tax by 1% which exceeds the limit of 7% but that is only in extreme necessity.
When it comes to crimes, petty thieves will be treated the same way as a bank robber. There will be fines and/or time in jail. There will be state jails, county jails, and small jails in cities. Before being put in jail there will be a trial with no jury and the judge will be the one that decides the final word. A murder will be treated by three stages manslaughter, second degree murder, and third degree murder. It all depends on the age of the accused an 18 yr old and less will be put in juvie or a military school for the years it has to serve. He/she can also go live out of the country but if it commits another felony they will immediately be put in juvie for the rest of their time and get time off for good behavior. An 18yr old - 50 will serve their time in jail and also get time off for good behavior. Fines will start at $300-$1,000,000

Proclamation of 1763: the score I gave it is a 2.5. The reason was that the people couldn’t cross an invisible line west of the Appalachians Mountains. But not many people cared about the rule. Some of the colonists didn’t obey because they already had claimed that area.
The Proclamation of 1773 is when British officials decided to make a law that colonists couldn’t settle west of the Appalachian Mountains. The colonists that had settled there already had to move. They also sent 10,000 troops to enforce the law and to top it off they had to provide shelter for the troops. Not many cared and moved west anyway so that’s why I gave it a 2.5.



Sugar Act 1764: The score that I gave to this act was a .5. Why? Cause it was only a tax on molasses. The sugar act was that merchants had to pay a tax. Sometimes merchants bribed tax collectors to look the other way. The new law gave British officials a chance to bring smugglers to court.



Stamp Act 1765: I gave it a 2 because it was kind of bad. The reason it was bad is because if you wanted to get married you were taxed on the marriage document. Also a lot of legal documents were also taxed. The newspapers, almanacs, playing cards and dice were also taxed.



Townshend Act 1767: The score I gave it was a three. The reason is that this tax is an unfair tax because they only got the tax because the guy was called a coward for not taxing America. So Townshend taxed America to prove he is not a coward. And he taxed goods such as glass, lead, paper, tea, and paint. The three I gave it was because it’s unfair to get taxed just because your leader was called a coward.




Boston Massacre 1770: A 4 is the score that I gave it because it was violent but not as much as the Battle of Bunker Hill. The “lobster backs” were guarding the British customs house and a large crowd gathered around them. The crowd also shouted insults at the soldiers. The soldiers panicked when the crowd got rowdier and fired. After the smoke cleared five people were on the floor dead or dying.




Tea Act 1773: The Tea Act got a two because it was only passed to help the British East India Company to make money. Even though it was less expensive than ever it only took the tea merchants job away. Even tea drinkers didn’t buy tea anymore because they thought it was a trick to tax colonists.




Boston Tea Party Dec 16, 1773: This event received a 5 because it was a mission to get rid of all the tea since the Tea Act gave a tax on the tea. Sam Adams had a meeting with the Sons of Liberty to send a message to the governor to send the ships out of the harbor. When the governor said no Adams said , “This meeting can do no further to save the country.” Just after he said that, colonists dressed as Mohawk Indians shouted that Boston Harbor is going to be a teapot.





Intolerable Act 1774: I gave this a two because it was a law that was sent to the colonists cause they threw the tea in the harbor so it was a fair law. The first law was that ships big or little couldn’t leave the harbor.

Algal Blooms
14 humpback whales that died died of a deadly toxin. this deadly toxin is called Alexandrium tamarense. the toxin is found in algae. this algae called a red tide was eaten by plants or fish. When whales passed by bhere and ate the plants or fish the toxin entered their body. The toxin took place immediately and the whales died.scientest have tried to syop the redtide by looking at arteas by satellite pictures.


fiction summary
Thank you Ma'm

In thank you ma'm mrs.jones teaches a boy a lesson he will never forget. He tried to steal her purse. She caught him and took him home. At home she left the room, put her purse in front of the boy, and left the door open. The boy didnt try to escape with the purse. the boy kept saying thak you ma'm hence the title. He kept saying it cause she taught a lesson for life.
