Dear wheel chair making company,

I believe the paraplegic should be helped, because of their many problems .No one person should suffer .we should make their life easier .We should do everything
In our power to help them because they are just like you and me. And they should have some chances, just because they can’t use their legs because they were born different, that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be
treated differently. Most people are trying to help
them and they’re always sittings down on their bottom.

So we could imagine isn’t that horrible. Its really mind numbing hours sitting but with this wheel chair I want you to sponsor. People will want sit down for hours because it’ll make them feel good when sitting down. Because of its soft foamy, seat making it really comfortable. You can also adjust the seat to however you want
It is all terrain so you can go outdoors with your family and do activities that everybody else does. Since it is electric people don’t have to push you around and you can be and not depend on other people to do stuff for you and because it is all terrain people around the world in dirt and rocky countries will want it in big demand. That it is also safe and very sturdy its also disasemblable and very cheap.

So, I have faith that you shall make the right dission and buy my amazing wheel chair.
Your future coworker

35 kirstine donegan play

POL (The Play)
- The play’s purpose was a spin-off of the 80’s film “Fame.” Introducing the audience to modern day troubles for teenagers.
- The requirements for the play were the same as any other, except we had to make sure everything was their. With a pre-written play you have the advantage of trusting that it makes since, and all you have to worry about is the acting and performing of the play. However, when you write your own play you have triple check that everything is their and makes since.
- First, the idea, a teenager movie, dealing with contemporary predicaments. The next step for us to write the play was improv: Then we would have a greater understanding of what we were trying to accomplish. After every role was created and basic meaning was established we began auditioning as well as discovering the performer’s talents. Then we put the pieces together, if their was something missing from the basic play we add it to improve the meaning. (Picking and choosing, adding and subtracting.) After we had it down we began practicing over and over to one make sure everything made since and two have it done perfectly.
- Their were many lessons everyone learned, and shared as well. Of course for me I learned that a play is more than one person. Usually there is one person who stands out in a play, or on a sports team, the MVP. As a non-competitive person, I’ve never really been a fan of that. However, with this play more then any other play I’ve done I felt it was more everyone was the MVP. As well everyone helped each other, gave advice as well complemented people. I all so learned that many people at Eagles Peak have great talents.
- I struggled with not laughing. For me that’s like asking a cow not to moo. I enjoyed seeing everyone proud of themselves and everyone else proud of everyone else. It was a good feeling.
- I learned that a play isn’t black or white. It doesn’t have to be the unoriginal “Romeo and Juliet” it can be something you came up with, that’s totally original.

How to Read a PoemHow do you read a poem?

Well you first start by reading the whole thing. When you’re finished, if the poem is difficult you can read the poem over. You read stanza by stanza. If you don’t understand the stanza than you can reread the stanza.RepetitionWhen something repeats in a poem it is called repetition.Repetition helps you understand the theme of the poem. Here is an example: And miles to go before I sleep,And miles to go before I sleepImageryImagery is when you can see, feel, hear, taste, and smell a certain part of the poem. This helps you so you feel what the author is feeling and understand the poem better. Here is an example: On the beach at night, stands a child with her father, watching the east, the autumn sky.MetaphorA metaphor is something that stands for something else.A metaphor helps you understand the meaning of the poem. Here is an example: Shall I compare thee to a summer's day? Thou art more lovely and more temperate.Rhythm/RhymeRegular rhythm is when you don’t stop and it flows. An irregular rhythm is when you have to stop every sentence and the images in your mind are like flash cards. When the poem rhymes it flows and you have don’t have to stop. However when it doesn’t rhyme it doesn’t really flow and you have to stop. Here are some examples:Rhythm

-RegularDistinctly I remember it was in the bleak December, and each separate dying ember wrought its ghost upon the floor.
-IrregularIn the greenest of our valleys By good angels tenanted, Once a fair and stately palace-Rhyme
-RegularOnce upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary
-Irregular Radiant palace- reared its head. In the monarch Thought's dominion- It stood there!Theme/MessageThe theme or message in the poem is what the poem means and what it stands for. It is important because understand where the poet is coming from and it could have a lesson to learn.

The RavenOnce upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary, Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore, While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping, As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door. "'Tis some visitor," I muttered, "tapping at my chamber door- Only this, and nothing more."Ah, distinctly I remember it was in the bleak December, And each separate dying ember wrought its ghost upon the floor. Eagerly I wished the morrow;- vainly I had sought to borrow From my books surcease of sorrow- sorrow for the lost Lenore- For the rare and radiant maiden whom the angels name Lenore- Nameless here for evermore. And the silken sad uncertain rustling of each purple curtain Thrilled me- filled me with fantastic terrors never felt before; So that now, to still the beating of my heart, I stood repeating, "'Tis some visitor entreating entrance at my chamber door- Some late visitor entreating entrance at my chamber door;-This it is, and nothing more."Presently my soul grew stronger; hesitating then no longer, "Sir," said I, "or Madam, truly your forgiveness I implore; But the fact is I was napping, and so gently you came rapping, And so faintly you came tapping, tapping at my chamber door, That I scarce was sure I heard you"- here I opened wide the door;-Darkness there, and nothing more.Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there wondering, fearing, Doubting, dreaming dreams no mortals ever dared to dream before; But the silence was unbroken, and the stillness gave no token, And the only word there spoken was the whispered word, "Lenore!" This I whispered, and an echo murmured back the word, "Lenore!"-Merely this, and nothing more.Back into the chamber turning, all my soul within me burning, Soon again I heard a tapping somewhat louder than before. "Surely," said I, "surely that is something at my window lattice: Let me see, then, what thereat is, and this mystery explore- Let my heart be still a moment and this mystery explore;-'Tis the wind and nothing more."Open here I flung the shutter, when, with many a flirt and flutter, In there stepped a stately raven of the saintly days of yore; Not the least obeisance made he; not a minute stopped or stayed he; But, with mien of lord or lady, perched above my chamber door- Perched upon a bust of Pallas just above my chamber door-Perched, and sat, and nothing more. Then this ebony bird beguiling my sad fancy into smiling, By the grave and stern decorum of the countenance it wore. "Though thy crest be shorn and shaven, thou," I said, "art sure no craven, Ghastly grim and ancient raven wandering from the Nightly shore- Tell me what thy lordly name is on the Night's Plutonian shore!"Quoth the Raven, "Nevermore."Much I marvelled this ungainly fowl to hear discourse so plainly, Though its answer little meaning- little relevancy bore; For we cannot help agreeing that no living human being Ever yet was blest with seeing bird above his chamber door- Bird or beast upon the sculptured bust above his chamber door, With such name as "Nevermore."But the raven, sitting lonely on the placid bust, spoke only That one word, as if his soul in that one word he did outpour. Nothing further then he uttered- not a feather then he fluttered- Till I scarcely more than muttered, "other friends have flown before- On the morrow he will leave me, as my hopes have flown before." Then the bird said, "Nevermore."Startled at the stillness broken by reply so aptly spoken, "Doubtless," said I, "what it utters is its only stock and store, Caught from some unhappy master whom unmerciful Disaster Followed fast and followed faster till his songs one burden bore- Till the dirges of his Hope that melancholy burden bore Of 'Never- nevermore'."But the Raven still beguiling all my fancy into smiling, Straight I wheeled a cushioned seat in front of bird, and bust and door; Then upon the velvet sinking, I betook myself to linking Fancy unto fancy, thinking what this ominous bird of yore- What this grim, ungainly, ghastly, gaunt and ominous bird of yore Meant in croaking "Nevermore."This I sat engaged in guessing, but no syllable expressing To the fowl whose fiery eyes now burned into my bosom's core; This and more I sat divining, with my head at ease reclining On the cushion's velvet lining that the lamplight gloated o'er, But whose velvet violet lining with the lamplight gloating o'er, She shall press, ah, nevermore! Then methought the air grew denser, perfumed from an unseen censer Swung by Seraphim whose footfalls tinkled on the tufted floor. "Wretch," I cried, "thy God hath lent thee- by these angels he hath sent thee Respite- respite and nepenthe, from thy memories of Lenore! Quaff, oh quaff this kind nepenthe and forget this lost Lenore!" Quoth the Raven, "Nevermore.""Prophet!" said I, "thing of evil!- prophet still, if bird or devil!- Whether Tempter sent, or whether tempest tossed thee here ashore, Desolate yet all undaunted, on this desert land enchanted- On this home by horror haunted- tell me truly, I implore- Is there- is there balm in Gilead?- tell me- tell me, I implore!" Quoth the Raven, "Nevermore.""Prophet!" said I, "thing of evil- prophet still, if bird or devil! By that Heaven that bends above us- by that God we both adore- Tell this soul with sorrow laden if, within the distant Aidenn, It shall clasp a sainted maiden whom the angels name Lenore- Clasp a rare and radiant maiden whom the angels name Lenore." Quoth the Raven, "Nevermore.""Be that word our sign in parting, bird or fiend," I shrieked, upstarting- "Get thee back into the tempest and the Night's Plutonian shore! Leave no black plume as a token of that lie thy soul hath spoken! Leave my loneliness unbroken!- quit the bust above my door! Take thy beak from out my heart, and take thy form from off my door!" Quoth the Raven, "Nevermore."And the Raven, never flitting, still is sitting, still is sitting On the pallid bust of Pallas just above my chamber door; And his eyes have all the seeming of a demon's that is dreaming, And the lamplight o'er him streaming throws his shadow on the floor; And my soul from out that shadow that lies floating on the floor Shall be lifted- nevermore

1. Purpose of the Play
The purpose of the play was to have an awesome learning experience. It taught us that we could write our own play and make it so great. Another purpose of us doing the play was to have fun.

2. The requirements of the Play
The requirements for this play was that we had to write our own play. We had to rehearse many times and had to write my own lines. I basically had to write my own character. That was kind of fun to do. Rehearsals sometimes had to be two or three periods long so we were expected to stay focused. When we were focused we had to pay attention to the people who were doing they're scene.

3. Describe the process of building a play
The process of building a play is simple. We started by brainstorming. As in thinking of how we wanted to make our character. The personality and what we were going to say. The next step was to rehearse it over and over again. Finally, we put it all together and rehearsed that over and over. Then performed in front of the parents.

4. Describe some concepts you learned
Some concepts I learned were to be less shy and to just be my self. It was really fun once I did that. I sang and acted without fear.

5. Talk about something you struggled with or enjoyed a lot
The one thing I struggled with was learning how to come out of my shell. But once I did that everything was a lot easier.

6. Reflect on what you learned
I learned a lot about being my self. Singing, acting and a lot more! All that stuff was the fun part of drama.

Purpose of the Play: i think the purpose of the play was for the people who had not had any experience with acting and singing to get a chance to try. that way if they grow up and want to be a acter or a singer they will allready have some experience and that might make them feel more comfortable with their carreer choice if they allready know what to do. plus it is a drama class after all we needed to do some sort of play.

2. The requirements of the Play:you needed to write and learn your own lines. and you had to make it convinceing. you have to make it look like your the character your trying to be. because if you dont make it look convinceing it makes the play look less good because it doesnt look real.

3. Describe the process of building a play: first we had to audition, the way we additioned was we
would sing or do a diolog or something like that then mr rachlin would place us where he thinks we would work best in. then we began making the scenes and writing our own script. then we had to reherse. then we placed the scenes where they fit.then we did dress rehersals.

4. Describe some concepts you learned: i learned that i had a good vioce i learned that i could do some acting. and i learned to come out of my shell and how to not be so shy. and i also made alot of freinds in drama class.

5. Talk about something you struggled with or enjoyed a lot:i liked to sing alot but i struggled singing in front of people because at first it was really embarressing. but then i got over it because people kept telling me that i had a good voice.

1. Purpose of the Play
the purpose of the play was .to show that we could do a play without memorizing lines and to let people come out of there shell. also it was to show that we all had potential and that we really could stand up in front of an audience and show them that we didn't need money, proffesionals, one year to practice, or space to pull off an amazing production.

2. The requirements of the Play
well we had a lot of requirments. the first was patience because we didn't really have that much time to prep. so we just had to be patient and do it. next was being quiet because like i said was that we didn't have enough time so we had to be quiet so the actors could act.

3. Describe the process of building a play
in the beginning it was hard to get it together. noone really knew what to do we like mobbed Mr. R with questions. then we finally got it together. but it was getting closer to when we were going to perform. so we had to rehearse a lot. we had two periods to practice and that wasn't even enough. but we pulled it off.

4. Describe some concepts you learned
Well I learned how to come out of my shell and how to act. The play also taught me a lesson on how to not knock down the dominos.

5. Talk about something you struggled with or enjoyed a lot

2. The requirements of the Play
the requirements for the play were to act when it was our turn, be quiet when its not our turn, set up sets when we have to, and have fun

3. Describe the process of building a play

3. Describe the process of building a play
4. Describe some concepts you learned
5. Talk about something you struggled with or enjoyed a lot
6. Reflect on what you learned

I Think the purpose of the play was to show our talent and what were good at. Also seeing what we were capable of doing on our own. And writting our own dialouge instead of reading from a boring script.

The requirements where for me to know my q to go up on stage and how to do your scene, and how to do them, and remember lines, But most of all do our best.....

The process was what it would be and then who would be who, and some equiments we needed to use in the play, but its not as easy as it sounds , people were struggling with what we would do and how we would say it , or how to approch off and on stage and had to remember what part would be comming next. And when its all done we can look back and remember what we've done and be proud and also remember how many poeple we made proud too.

Some concepts that i learned were get over my stage fright and i did....beofore it happend i was Super Duper scared but once i was on that stage and i was doing what i was good at it was awsome and when every one clapped it felt really good.!<3 3 3

Some of the things at i struggled with was my singing because im not good with crowds and that was really hard for me . Also another thing i had trouble with was my confidence i had very very low cconfidence for my self but ever since i came into drama every thing changed. That all changed because during practice i had to always go up and do my part but day by day it started to get easier for me.

Well just from drama i learned alot -and most credits to Mr.Rachlin:) - He helped me understand that whats most important is what i think about my self because if i care about what all of the other people have to say you just have low confidence and thats what i use to be but now days im happy and laughing and dont care what any one has to say. Ohh and i also got better at my singing. (: Mr. Rachlin knew i had it in me the hold time but i use to never let my self beleive that i was good and am ...Soo Thank you mr.Rachlin . !!! You helped me a buunchesss lol......

barbara padilla43 drama p.o.l.

1. Purpose of the Play
the purpose of the play was to let the students be able to express ourselves in our own ways by really being able to relate to the characters and stuff because we were the ones that had to write our parts ourselves. this play was also a way of us really raising our confidence because not just the shy kids preformed live, but we were also able to see what great work we are able to concoct.

2. The requirements of the Play
we were required to bring our own things and to write our own parts. we were also required to help each other and do as much as we could to be able to work as a team and a family.

3. Describe the process of building a play
we first set up a draft of characters and a sort of pre-write to the plot and the story line. we went over the characters and their problems, and the main theme. then we added some people, we fixed up some parts and we just worked. we all just went off on our own and wrote bits of the play. then when we say a rough edit of the play we just added what we needed to make it flow better. and we kept on adding and editing until we were actually on stage preforming for all the parents.

4. Describe some concepts you learned
i learned how to be able to really improve, as well as how to not stress and just do what comes to you. and though i knew this already, this was still very much stressed on... working together.

5. Talk about something you struggled with or enjoyed a lot
i struggled with the fact that i had to sit still in a wheelchair and not laugh at the serious parts. when i was actually preforming it was easy because i was so in character, but when rehearsing, it was still a bit troublesome. and i really enjoyed being someone that wasn't like me at all. so i really did get to act.

6. Reflect on what you learned
i learned a different way to act. i also was really able to show off my English and writing skills because I was able to write my own parts. i was able to freely express myself and really just use my imagination. being able to not just write my own part but help put the whole play together really busted my confidence and made me see what i, and all the other actors, are capable of doing when we work together doing something we love.

1. The purpose of the play was to show off our skills on how to act, sing, be funny, and more!! Another thing was that we had to write our own scenes in the play so that was fun by acting them out too!! However, we had to learn when to go up when it was our scene cuz there were so many of us we had to remember a lot of things for the play.

2. The requirements for the play was to learn our scenes and when to get on. However, we had to write our lines and act them out with others and their scenes. And another thing was that it was hard getting ready in our own wardrobe for the play.

3. The process of doing this play was to prepare before we performed in front of family and friends!! However, we were really rady to do it for everyone because we wanted to be outstanding. And we were because everyone loved us, but at first we were really nervous!!

4. I learned to learn the scenes a little bit and to be prepared for the actual play!! However, i learned to be really sure of myself before i did anything, because i was relly nervous to go up there so i didn't get to act but im glad juliana had fun!!

5. The thing i enjoyed the most was being part of drama and hanging out with friends during this dominoe effect!! I did have one struggle and it was family problems, but i still went beacause i had a job to do for Mr. Raachlin!!And that didn't really stopped me from going to the play with my friends!!

Become the character.
Write the play our selves.(not that hard)
Know when we had to go on stage.

Crew
Know when to put props on stage.
Where they have to go.

3. Describe the process of building a play
It was kinda hard. We had to make sure every scene made sense.
Then we had to decide what props we were going to use.

Crew
We had to know how the actors wanted the scene.
What props to use.
Where to put them
Put props on time

4. Describe some concepts you learned

& alot more♥

-Vanessa PLO darma

1. Purpose of the Play: The purpose of the play was to for us to learn how to
express ourselves. It was for us to learn how to get over stage fright. I think that another purpose was to impress our parents and show them that we can really do impressive things. We aren't just normal children we are creative and we like to put our best into things.

2. The requirements of the Play: The requirements of the play was for us to be there every day, to learn our scripts, to practice our scripts, to really know and get into the personality you wanted you're character to have to understand it. You also had to learn that sometimes things are serious and that sometimes you have to cooperate and not goof around.

3. Describe the process of building a play: It was not easy at all. We had to cooperate with each other and be a team. At first we took it serious and we didnt care what other people said but when the paly was comming up we just started goofing off. We sometimes made Mr. Rachlin mad. But we made it and we reached where we wanted to go! we made a great and fantastic pay!

4. Describe some concepts you learned: I learned not to forget my tissues!

5. Talk about something you struggled with or enjoyed a lot: I struggled in only speaking spanish it was kinda emberassing. But at the play i saw people laughing and i was happy. WE WERE THE BOMB!!

6. Reflect on what you learned

39 Josue hernandez: P.O.L.

1. Purpose of the Play:For me the purpose of the play was to learn how to write our own play. and to let our talents free.

2. The requirements of the Play: the requirements were to learn our parts, scenes and improve them. were to be in our costumes ready during dress rehearsal.when we messed up we had to fix the problems ourselves because when were live the director wasn't going to help us. if you were singing you had to learn the song.

3. Describe the process of building a play: we first had to brainstorm an idea of what the play is going to be about. then after you have an idea you write the characters and how the whole play is going to work out. when people have their parts they can go work on their scenes, dialogue, singing, acting, motions, etc. after we had our parts all down we had rehearsals and fixing the dents in the play. then when we had it as close to perfect as it can get we had dress rehearsals. we set the date. work on it more than perform in front of people.

4. Describe some concepts you learned: i learned that tunnel vision works on the day of the actual performance. because when doing rehearsals i could concentrate but not fully on the drama and on the day of the performance i couldn't think of anything else but the performance.

5. Talk about something you struggled with or enjoyed a lot: i struggled with getting the glitches fixed on our scenes. i also had to make our scenes a little bit longer.

6. Reflect on what you learned: i liked writing our own play because that way we wouldn't be bored by somebodies Else's invention and learn like really long dialogue.

35 Kirstine Donegan The Cat Who Thought She Was A Dog, And The Dog Who Thought He Was A Cat

The Cat Who Thought She Was A Dog, And The Dog Who Thought He Was A Cat

Beauty is only skin deep, some believe that the beauty on the outside is more important than the inside. However, if you never knew your outside image, how much would your life alter? Would you still know who you were without knowing what you look like? Isaac Bashevis Singer, explains in one of his famous short story’s titled, The Cat Who Thought She Was A Dog And The Dog Who Thought He Was A Cat, that your outside image is only a cover of you and who you are, and focusing on that image can only destroy you.

Kot: a cat who hadn’t faintest idea what she looked like, all she had was the appearance of her friend Burek: a dog, who hadn’t the faintest idea what he looked like, all he had was the appearance of his friend Kot. As a result Kot thought that she was a dog, and Burek thought that he was a cat. Completely content with their ignorance they had found bliss. Poor Peasants have no need for a mirror; their only focus is their family, and their work. Jan Skiba was a poor peasant, who took pride in his family, as well as his work. When a friend offered a mirror for sale, he hesitated at purchasing. However, he ultimately purchased with great fear.

Skiba’s daughters began loving the mirror, for the first time they had seen themselves. As their curiosity towards the mirror grew their confidence in themselves faded away. They eventually found “defects” in their once considered perfect faces. Jan Skiba himself began to take a second glance at himself and not enjoy what he saw. The daughters began to want more than ever, causing Jan Skiba to feel more inferior to rich than ever. After the cat and the dog saw themselves their reaction did not differ from the rest of the family’s. Once they had seen what they looked like, they were freighted by each other, and themselves.

Inevitably Jan Skiba only had one sensible choice, to eliminate the mirror. Once the mirror was gone the daughters began to be happier, and not so focused on their appearance. Yet another affect of the elimination of the mirror was that the dog and cat were friends again. Everything was back to normal, which proved that there is no need for a mirror in a poor peasant household.

Obviously the issue comes up, about plastic surgery, and self-confidence. This story is extremely timeless because the topics it addresses are resent as well as classic. Personally I believe every teenager should have this story on their wall to remind them that what they see is not all they have to offer the world.
