SOJOURNER TRUTH:
SHE WAS ONE OF THE WOMEN THAT WHERE FIGHTING SLAVERY.
I CHOSE TO PUT HER ON THE DOLLAR BILL BECAUSE I DON’T THINK THAT SHE GETS ENOUGH CREDIT AND BECAUSE SHE WAS A VERY STRONG WOMAN AND SHE WASN’T AFRAID TO STAND UP FOR WHAT SHE KNEW WAS RIGHT. SHE WAS ALSO A WOMAN THAT SPOKE OUT IN PUBLIC AND PEOPLE REALLY LISTENED TO WHAT SHE HAD TO SAY. SHE ALSO ESCAPED SLAVERY.HER MOST FAMOUS SPEECH WAS “AND AIN’T I A WOMAN?”
