Life is a broken-winged bird
That cannot fly.
Hold fast to dreams
For when dreams go
Life is a barren field
Frozen with snow.

- Hold on to your dreams and life because if you do let it go you would be ruined,
"Life is a broken-winged bird" or "For when dreams go Life is a barren field Frozen with snow." 
- What I didn't like is how Langston Hughes didn't give enough examples to give the reader more.
