A Sort of a Song

Let the snake wait underhis weedand
the writingbe of words, slow and quick,
sharp to strike, quiet to wait,
sleepless.
--through metaphor to reconcilethe people and the stones.

3. Explain metaphors. The first stanza is trying to explain either the contents of a high-quality song or how to construct one. 4. What rhythm or rhyme scheme does the poem have? How does this affect meaning? There is absolutely no rhyming, which causes the reader to stop and think.
5. What is the theme or message of the poem? Give text examples from each stanza. The poem is trying to explain either the contents of a high-quality song or how to construct one.

Blizzard
Snow falls:years of anger followinghours that float idly down
--the blizzarddrifts its weightdeeper and deeper for three daysor sixty years, eh?
Then the sun!
a clutter ofyellow and blue flakes --
Hairy looking trees stand outin long alley sover a wild solitude.
The man turns and there --his solitary track stretched outupon the world.
