Ceded by Spain: Andrew Jackson invaded Florida which did belong to Spain. In 1819 the Spanish decided to yield Florida to the United States. The US let Spain run Texas, yet everyone was not excited about that. (Florida)

Louisiana Purchase: The Louisiana Purchase spread from Canada to South of Texas. The Louisiana Purchase was considered a “Noble Bargain” Yet some still believed that it was too big and would be impossible to govern. However Jackson bought it for 2 to 3 cents an acre from Napoleon causing citizens to say he was tearing the constitution to taters.( From Montana to Louisiana)

Texas: Texas was originally Moses Austin’s. When his son took over he started a colony on Mexican terms. Texans were tired of Americans immigrating, with the disagreement of Santa Anna they went to war, The Alamo. Texas won it’s Intendance with the help of a man named Sam Houston whose idea wasn’t popular, but it was indeed brilliant. (Part of New Mexico and ends at Texas.)

Oregon: Oregon went from the Rocky Mountains to the Pacific Ocean. Claimed by – Russia; Spain; Great Britain; and the US. The US afraid to start war with Britain agreed to divide Organ in half which is now known as the border between the US and Canada. (Washington, Oregon and Idaho.)


Mexican Cession: This is a result of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, which ended in the Mexican-American War (California to Part of New Mexico.)

Added as a result of Treaty of Paris:
Territories, later states, which came into the Union as a result of the treaty ending the American Revolution. (Wisconsin to Alabama)
First 13 Clonoies: The Thirteen Colonies were part of what became known as British America, a name that was used by Great Britain until the Treaty of Paris recognized the independence of the original United Sates of America in 1783. These thirteen British colonies in North America Rebel Aganist Britsh Rule in 1775. A Proventual America was formed which proclaimed their independence, which is now celebrated as having occurred on July 4, 1776, and subsequently became the original thirteen United States of America. The colonies were founded between 1607 (Virgina), and 1733 (Georgia), although Great Britian held several other colonies in North America and the West Indies.
