Luke Helton
Kids should not be able to read all of the books that people publish because some of it should just be for adults to read. Like ones with vampires in it. Because some books can be inappropriate or to violent for little kids. But sometimes the violent stuff makes it interesting for older boys and love for older girls. That is what I think about this subject.

I am reading a book about a kid named Andre who likes to play basketball with his friend named Shawn who is on the opposite team of him. Andre had the ball and was going down the field to make the winning point. Shawn was the only blocker in Andre’s way to winning the game for them. They crashed and the basketball was spinning around the rim and it went in for the game point. Then Andre and Shawn walked off to Andre’s car to go to Shawn’s house where Shawn’s mom was making meatloaf for dinner. That is as far as I have read so far.

I think that students should have the freedom to read anything they want. What I mean by that is that they can read books that makes reading interesting for the kids. If kids dont get to choose what they want to read, after a while they will get board and just stop reading. If they stop reading it can be bad in many ways. They could lose all their imagination and be alone all the time. That is why I think that students should have the freedom to read anything they want.

I am reading the book A Lesson Before Dying and i'm on chapter 5. This book is about this kid named Jefferson who is going to go to jail for a crime he did not commit. The joury sentenced Jefferson to death by electricution. His Aunt and his other Aunt Emma want Grant, their nephew, to go talk to Jefferson to make him a man. They want Grant to talk to Jefferson because in court all anybody was saying to Jefferson was that he was not a man. That made his Aunts very sad and that is why they want Grant to go talk to him. Even though Grant dosent want to talk to Jefferson his Aunts are making him go talk Henri Pichot. They are going to talk to Henri because his brother is the sheriff. The government shouldn't censure what children should read. Obvious limits are giving children adult books or books that promote drug use and racism. Violence on TV can affect on kid that watch 3-4 they get violent and aggressive. They should at least control what violence they what on TV some parents/government want to banned violence and the directors say that it’s freedom of speech now in days you cannot go to a movie theater if the ratings don’t say the age that you are. Some movies even have censorship that kids should not even see. Even according to Francis G. an authority on movie censorship and she does not like at all the movies that have censorship. The movies that have censorship and some of them are even banned because they did not allow showing it. So not even in books because any one can read the book.kid tell their parent that if they can watch rated (R) movies that are only 18 years and older. Some movies have mild violence, mild language and in some movies karate guys kick them in the stomach and they copy them and do it on some one else. The government wants’ to stop them but they say that you cannot do noting because it’s freedom of speech is a act that comes withe in someones mind and i that is not right and fair for the censorship people to tolerate that tipe of inapropiate movie/book.And even parent have to take care of there kid on what they are watch on TV and not make them see these tipe of movies on TV and they even say it's freedom of speech.I say we should put a stop on TV violence on what whe watch by the way parents have part of the fault by not correcting them .

What I think is a bad influence o kids, teenagers, would be drinking, or drinking and driving because of the accidents that adults have when drinking then driving in the open road. I also think that drinking should be illegal because of the number showings that comes up for drinking, 90% of people get in car crash’s mostly teenagers shown in drinking and driving. Also shown in a graph people tend to only drink 1 shot of alcohol people still do not get in car crash’s, or when adults are drunk the tend to give their children/teenagers some also.

TV violence is bad for a lot of reasons, one of them is when a child or someone older can watch TV and it has violence they might repeat what they see then someone gets hurt.
Another of my opinions is their are not influenced by TV violence they might have been violent before they even watched violence on TV. The

Most American children watch an average of three to four hours, and most and most of the kids that do watch television get influenced by the shows that they watch and after there done watching that show they don’t have a good behavior, also most of the shows now a days are violent and that is were the kids get the violence.
The same thing happens to the teenagers, and they also become immune and numb to the horror and violence that they see, for most parents its okay to let there kids be watching the violence from television because they say that violence is the answer to problems.
Some kids try to imitate the violence that they see in the shows that they watch, and just by watching one episode it can increase the aggressiveness on children. Also the parents of the children should pay more attention to the shows that there kid’s watch and they should also watch some shows with them.

Another issue is when kids watch violence, they reenact what they saw. When younger kids watch shows like Power Rangers, they hurt others with some Power Ranger fighting moves. Or when they watch Spiderman, they think people who give them problems should stop bothering them by hurting them. Parents should remind their kids that whats happening during Power Rangers or Spiderman isn't real.
Although, sometimes parent can't control what their child is watching. Sometimes they're at work, so they can't prove that their child was even watching the violence. Another thing is that a show without any violence might have an episode with violence. Sometime parents don't know whats coming. However, parents can stop them from watching the violence by telling their kids they're not allowed to watch those kind of shows & movies. Other people, adults/kids, don't have complete sanity and watching gory movies can only give an example or idea them. It is argued that parents should be there with their kids when they watch T.V, not the station's responsibility, but parents are very busy people, and they aren't always there to limit what their children see.
It's a fact that kids do what they see and if they saw a possessed , killer child stabbing someone, they would probably think that its okay-that its what kids do. If they see a video game where, usually you have three lives, they would believe that everyone has three lives. There is one case where not too long ago, there was a little boy who shot a little girl because he bugged him and his answer to it all was "I'll see her tomorrow anyways."
