Emily V. -The Purpose of School

I think the most important function of school is giving knowledge to students because to be successful at anything, you need to know math, science, English, and so on. Some people think you don’t need math or science to play sports, but you do. For example, a basketball player needs to know the perfect angle to make it in at least 50% of the time. This is where math is a factor. Also, if the ball is going too slow or too fast, it won’t go in as often as when the ball has the right speed. This is where science is involved. Analyzing what you see, hear, and read is good, but it is more important to teach students the math, science, English, and other skills they’ll need to carry them through life.
