How Hip-Hop Lost Its Way and Betrayed Its Fans

It this article, the author talks about how rap and hip-hop influence children myths about race. It also talks about how most rappers started out drug-dealing, killing people, and ending up in jail. Since most rappers start out living a life like that, they rap about drug-dealing and violence.

When kids and teenagers hear these songs, they think this is how they should behave, too. Another thing rap influences, is that only African-American people behave like this. Rapping about stereotypes like this, has kids and teens falling into the cracks just like their so-called heroes. These "heroes" also set terrible examples by, shooting innocence people for no pointless reason. Is there a way for rappers to set better examples in their music? Yes, but would people listen to their music anymore? Will the music companies allow this? If rappers could rap about different themes again, maybe there won't be a problem anymore.
