barbara padilla43 drama p.o.l.

1. Purpose of the Play
the purpose of the play was to let the students be able to express ourselves in our own ways by really being able to relate to the characters and stuff because we were the ones that had to write our parts ourselves. this play was also a way of us really raising our confidence because not just the shy kids preformed live, but we were also able to see what great work we are able to concoct.

2. The requirements of the Play
we were required to bring our own things and to write our own parts. we were also required to help each other and do as much as we could to be able to work as a team and a family.

3. Describe the process of building a play
we first set up a draft of characters and a sort of pre-write to the plot and the story line. we went over the characters and their problems, and the main theme. then we added some people, we fixed up some parts and we just worked. we all just went off on our own and wrote bits of the play. then when we say a rough edit of the play we just added what we needed to make it flow better. and we kept on adding and editing until we were actually on stage preforming for all the parents.

4. Describe some concepts you learned
i learned how to be able to really improve, as well as how to not stress and just do what comes to you. and though i knew this already, this was still very much stressed on... working together.

5. Talk about something you struggled with or enjoyed a lot
i struggled with the fact that i had to sit still in a wheelchair and not laugh at the serious parts. when i was actually preforming it was easy because i was so in character, but when rehearsing, it was still a bit troublesome. and i really enjoyed being someone that wasn't like me at all. so i really did get to act.

6. Reflect on what you learned
i learned a different way to act. i also was really able to show off my English and writing skills because I was able to write my own parts. i was able to freely express myself and really just use my imagination. being able to not just write my own part but help put the whole play together really busted my confidence and made me see what i, and all the other actors, are capable of doing when we work together doing something we love.
